Гриб Феллинус хрисолома - это вид грибов рода Феллинус, распространенный в северных регионах, включая Санкт-Петербург и Ленинградскую область. Вnorth-западной России этот гриб часто встречается на мертвой древесине хвойных пород, особенно на сосне и ели. Плодовые тела гриба имеют размеры от 5 до 20 см в диаметре, с шляпкой, окрашенной в различные оттенки коричневого цвета, и трубчатым гименофором желтовато-коричневого цвета. Микроскопически характеризуется наличием цистид и базидий размерами 4-6 мкм. Встречается с июня по октябрь, наиболее часто в старых лесах и на опушках. Гриб считается сапротрофом и играет важную роль в разложении древесины и круговороте питательных веществ в северных экосистемах.

Гриб имеет коричневую шляпку с моховым покрытием, а нижняя сторона имеет пористую структуру. Наблюдения были сделаны в различных местах, включая Kannelyarvi, Toksovo и Lindulovskaya Larch Grove. Гриб был найден на сухих ветвях, падающих елях и гниющей древесине. Различные формы гриба были обнаружены, включая распростертую форму и шляпную форму с моховым покрытием.
